The Six Core Values of Western Industries

When you’re always working to create new things, it’s important to stay grounded. When your head is in the clouds while you’re busy creating a solution for each problem, it’s easy to lose sight of the ground.

For any operation, keeping in touch with the way you want to operate and the kind of organization you want to be is essential if you don’t want to lose your way.

At Western Industries, we adhere to six core values that always keep us pointed in the right direction. While we usually talk about what we do – like designing custom crates – in this post we wanted to take a look at who we are and the core principles that help keep us on the right track.

Trust

Trust is the foundation of every good relationship, be it the relationship between co-workers, managers, and staff, or Western Industries and her clients. If our clients can trust us with the safe packing of each and every product they produce, then that must be trust we have earned.

Safety

From the biggest elements in a business to the smallest, safety must always be a priority. When we’re creating custom packaging and doing our job right, there are no dents, dings, or scratches (on people or products) and that applies to the smallest boxed items to the largest warehouse. We love efficient, effective logistics, and nothing ruins that faster than not protecting the people and products around you. Safety isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s a must-have.

Quality

Quality is a tricky term. Depending on how you apply it, the meaning can be fluid. Is it quality in the pieces we build? The processes we deliver? The communication with our staff, contractors, and clients? Yes, it’s all of those. Maybe it’s not that tricky after all.

Expertise

Being good enough just isn’t good enough. We believe this as a company, but you can also see it in our staff. Each person at Western Industries has a specialty, and you don’t get to be a part of our team unless you’re pushing yourself to be better at something.

You can see this in everyone from the front office to the designers to the fabricators and beyond. When we’re each pushing individually to be the best at what we do, the results are pretty amazing.

Problem Solving

If you’re familiar with our custom packaging solutions, then this value shouldn’t surprise you. In fact, if we had to pick a favorite value, this might just be it. Our customers bring us challenges all the time, and we’re at our best when we’re trying to find the perfect balance of cost, design, and customer service.

Sense of Urgency

John K. Potter authored a book entitled Sense of Urgency, and his definition sums up how we feel. He says that an ideal sense of urgency in a business is “a gut-level determination to move, and win, now!” We couldn’t agree more.

What about you? Which values are at work within your organization?

Whether it’s updating your packaging, adding efficiency to your warehouse, or even streamlining your overall logistics plan, WIC is ready to put these values to work in order to improve your situation. Give us a call and let’s work together to see if we can make tomorrow better than today.
